Nutri System Worked For Me!
I lost 4 lbs. the past three weeks, not bad huh? I think it would be closer to 5 lbs. if I didn’t eat so much last weekend with friends in town. This fat booty put on 15 lbs the past year. I already have a black man’s bubble butt, so it ain’t helpin’. My friends make fun of my butt all the time. It’s pretty easy… I cut back some on coffee/boba/soda and haven’t felt the urge to max out on eating. Exercising some portion control has helped a bunch.
How Does One Become a Blob?
It’ll happen to you too. My metabolism has slowed as I get older. How crazy was I before? In high school I could put away two double-doubles, two fries, and a milkshake from In ‘n Out. Now I eat one cheeseburger, fries, and sometimes a shake.
Injuries, injuries, injuries.
- 4 years ago: Bad ankle injury
- 3 years ago: Ankle recovered, then guy pushes me in the air and I sprain it bad again. Plantar Fasciitis comes and goes (feels like stepping on a bruised golf ball on my heel). Plantar isn’t structurally bad, but is one of the most nagging injuries you can have.
- This year: I went to the Oakley Factory Sale in May and stood in line for about three or four hours. It messed something up, because I still have top side ankle pain. From standing in line! Maybe my ankles were already slightly loose from previous injuries, but how does that translate into 6 months of pain? I feel it every step I take. Is it bone spurs? Ligament damage? I don’t know. For two months I couldn’t do any sort of running. Even now, I’m limited. Think I can convince the doctor to splurge on an MRI for me?
- This summer: We played in a Fast Action basketball league in the summer and I jammed my finger going for a ball. I thought it was just a bad jam, but then that’s taken three months to heal. Must’ve been slight dislocation or minor break. I didn’t go to the doctor because I know there’s nothing he could do but say put a splint on it because it has full motion.
- This fall: In September I suffered a calf strain from… overstretching! That took six weeks to heal, so I couldn’t jog at all then. One leg bad calf, one leg bad ankle.
I’m better at diagnosing sports injuries than some doctor friends. Where did I learn? Sports news! I follow baseball, basketball, and football and learn so much from their player injury reports. ACL = 1 year, high ankle sprain 4-8 weeks. broken finger 4-6 weeks for proper healing, broken arm or leg, 6-8 weeks, muscle strains = 6 weeks, torn labrum = 9-12 months, arthroscope surgery recovery time 4-6 weeks… you get the point.
Not being able to exercise… that’s how I gained 15 lbs (now down to +11). Don’t take your health for granted.
When’s the last time you got hurt? Do you have any nagging or reoccuring injuries?

Wow, when I check out the website for Nutri System, I feel that the portions are so little! I guess I like to munch on things throughout the day and I don’t really like the idea of just limiting myself to 3 full meals and a snack ALTHOUGH that’s probably what I do anyways. haha
My brothers would recommend just working out as the old-school way of dieting, and that’s what I’ve been doing ever since I signed up for 24 hour fitness! My brother looks a lot thinner although the scale does not do him justice, so aim for less body fat %?! Waist management is good too!
As for me, I don’t know if there is weight to be loss, but I feel better than usual!
I don’t want to go shopping for new clothes yet, because I’m not ready to settle! haha :-p
As for me, I don’t really get that much pain, but it’s probably because I’m still relatively young and all I need is a couple of days of rest and I’ll be good to go. You should try swimming instead of basketball! It works your body out and it has lower impact on your joints! I suck at swimming, so I’ll be eating my words up when I’m older!
@JennY71887 - You actually went to the Nutri System site? I was joking, you know that right? I don’t think I’d ever use a paid diet program. Everyone wants to go on a diet, but there are not shortcuts. Just look at what they eat! I don’t eat great, but I know it’s pretty simple, eat healthy, mix in colors in your foods, and keep portions normal sized, and exercise.
My healing/recovery time is a little slower now too. I wish I had a pool… I tell myself I’d use it all the time… but you know how it is… I wouldn’t.

I don’t get jokes well.
Haha. Trust me, if you ever met me in real life, it’s the same thing too. You can always get a gym membership, they have saunas, whirlpools, and a small 3 ft deep pool (haha) at 24 hour.
Get well!
so thats the secret to putting on the pounds! im going to break a limb or two to hinder activities so i can bulk up for winter.
the whole thing just snowballs… you get hurt so you gain weight… you gain weight so it puts more stress on your body and you get more hurt… then you gain more weight…
I watched Blind Side today. It’s supposed to be a feel good movie right? I felt all sad and bitter afterward. Playing 5 varsity sports in high school and getting recruited for football and basketball to have my dreams crushed from getting my knee subluxed and tearing my ACL, MCL, and meniscus playing in a recreation league at the end of my senior year. I talked to UCLA football coach and after I got hurt, I lost my admission… That’s why I hate UCLA so bad… No insurance so I rehabbed it on my own with no Physical Therapy for the next two years. Then tried to walk on the UCI bball team and after trying for a week i slipped a disc in my back. Last year tore my meniscus in my knee after getting low-bridged playing in a lame 3on3 bball tourney. I’ve packed on 60 lbs since high school.
Oh yikes—You have to be careful with the shakes at In N Out—I think they pack around 700-800 calories each! Yowzas! As for RH worship, I’m a substitute for the South County services. We just started a new service at Laguna Hills HS on Sunday mornings. (I actually went to LHHS growing up so it’s kinda nifty to be back again for church)
As for the E&O Insurance, I know we recently cut a deal with some company where we pay per transaction. But if you want, I’d be glad to forward your contact info to my office manager so if anything does change, we’ll have you as a reference?
